Brian Hoole

Minister

Hi, I am Brian, the Minister at Emmanuel.

I am married to Claire with 3 adult children. I was a school teacher for 7 years, first in rural Victoria and then with World Mission in Vanuatu before moving into ordained ministry where I have served for over 25 years in rural Tasmania, suburban Melbourne, regional Queensland in Hervey Bay and then as Presbytery Minister in Bremer Brisbane or west Brisbane. I came to Emmanuel in 2020 wanting to be a part of a church that believes in growing disciples.

I am excited and passionate about the potential we have to grow disciples who grow disciple. Who want to catch a vision of God’s kingdom and help people to grow into it.

For other interests and recreation I have a small bee hive, make sour dough bread and old style ginger and turmeric beer and enjoy swimming and scuba diving. I am a motorcycle rider though it is not getting the time it deserves. If I had to choose a favourite bible verse it would be the great commission from Matthew 28:18-20

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
